Since 2006, LASER World of PHOTONICS CHINA, the leading laser and photonics trade show in China, has brought to the industry innovative products, new solutions and technologies reflecting international trends. LASER World of PHOTONICS, its German counterpart held every two years in Munich, Germany, is the world’s only professional laser and photonics trade show covering the whole spectrum of the industry. The World of Photonics Congress held concurrently is the biggest photonics academic meeting in Europe. LASER World of PHOTONICS and its Chinese version are now important platform and barometer for the industry. Ever since its debut in 2006, LASER CHINA has repeatedly proved its role as the biggest platform for laser technology exhibition as well as communication in China and has gained stronger influence with each version organized. In 2010, over 280 exhibitors from 18 countries and districts are attending the trade show, attracting more than 25,000 professional visitors.

Five Special Areas Present the Whole Industry Spectrum
LASER World of PHOTONICS CHINA will feature five exhibition areas dedicated to different special themes: Lasers and optronics, Lasers and laser systems for production engineering, Optics and Optical Manufacturing, Sensors, Test and Measurement, and Parts and Services, a move that offer quicker navigation and better bridge between the exhibitors and visitors.

New “Optics Zone” Brings Fresh Highlight
A structure shift is undergoing in the optics processing industry, and the industry focus in developed countries has switched to optics technology development and design, while China and the Southeast Asian countries is becoming the optics cold processing powerhouse in replace of Taiwan. The downstream consumer digital products manufacturers are also transferring their factories to China, where industry clusters is already formed in both the Yangtze and Pearl River Delta regions, the former of which has particularly convened leading figures as Canon, Minolta, Olympus, Sony and Fuji, and numerous EMS companies, making a fertile land for the new Photonics Zone at LASER CHINA. In 2009, the trade show initiated a new Optics Zone to present the entire line of photonics products and technologies ranging from materials and parts to testing and measurement. This year, the success will be carried on by international players like II-V, EDMUND, OCEAN, Linos, Jenoptik, Japan cell, Ingeneric, SIGMA, and Merck Chemicals, and domestic ones as Shanghai Empower Technologies, CASIX INC., Castech Inc., Nanjing Wave Length Optics Technology, CRYSTECH Inc, Jiangsu Yudi Optical Instrument, Xi'an Xiguang Fine Chemical, HUBEI HUAZHONG PHOTOELECTRIC SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY LTD., NANNJING SHIYAN OPTICAL ELECTRONIC MACHINE CO., LTD, DJ - Laser Inc. and Shandong Fareach Optics.

The “Optical Design and Manufacturing Conference 2010” co-organized by Messe München International and Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM) will also be held at the same time. The conference will gather experts and scientists from research institutes, universities, and corporations to talk about optics processing and manufacturing, an important accompanying event of the Optics Zone.

Accompanying Events Build Communication Platform
The high-quality accompanying events were indispensable elements for every success of LASER CHINA. The topics at the events cover all the important applications of laser, optics and photonics in China. In 2009, over 1,100 visitors participated in the events; in 2010, LASER CHINA will again organize high-profile conferences that can shed light on hot topics in the industry.

Co-organized by Messe München International, Laser Zentrum Hannover, Laser Institute of America, and Laser Processing Committee of China Optical Society (LPC-COS), the 5th International Conference on Laser Processes and Components (LPC 2010) is committed to promote exchange and sharing between the research findings and their industrial applications. The two-day conference will discuss on topics like laser micro-processing technology, optics parts, laser macro-processing, laser system and safety. Prof. A. Ostendorf from Ruhr University Bochum and Prof. Zhong Minlin from Tsinghua University will act as the chairmen of the conference.

Optics Frontier- -2010' Laser Technology Forum and Outstanding Achievements Release Conference of Chinese Optics 2009' will invite renowned experts from international companies to exhibit frontier laser technologies and challenges. The forum is chaired by Prof. Fan Dianyuan (academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chief Editor of Laser & Optoelectronics Progress) and Prof. Chen Chuangtian (academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences). Prof. Zhou Bingkun (academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Director General of China Optical Society, and Chief Editor of CHINESE JOURNAL OF LASERS) will act as the Honorary Chairman. Topics at the forum include: All-solid-state lasers and novel lasers, Femtosecond lasers and micro and nano optics, High-power lasers and their applications, Laser materials and components, Semiconductor lasers and fiber lasers techniques, Laser detection techniques, Laser manufacturing techniques and applications, Laser medicine and other laser application techniques, Energy photonics, and Infrared techniques and devices. It is your never-again chance to catch on the optical frontier and talk face to face with leading experts.

A training course, Workshop on Optical Design and Inspection, is newly included this year to offer courses on Frontiers of optical design, the comparison and use of optical design software, Development and detection of modern optical components, Optics digital surface/profile measurement techniques, and Principles and operation essentials of optical detection instruments.

Foreign National Groups Join with Enthusiasm
National pavilions has always been the focal point at LASER CHINA, the foreign exhibitors brought with them edge-cutting laser and photonics technologies, and made the trade show an international platform. In 2010, the German and French National Pavilion made up of over 30 international exhibitors, including JENOPTIK、Raylase, Scanlab, LEONI, Linos, AlPhA, Amplitude, Laser Cheval, will guarantee amazements and delights for the Chinese exhibitors and visitors. British and Japanese enterprises are also actively preparing for their staging. We believe these German, French, British, Japanese and American exhibitors will bring us warm message of spring.
